On a more whimsical note, Sarah let us in on her daily routine when crafting a new comic. I have to stop my bike and type the idea into my phone she revealed. If I don’t it’s gone. It’s like tossing away a fortune over 700 dollars to be exact. I always tell myself I’ll remember it because it’s such a perfect thought but if I don’t write it down, it vanishes into thin air. She then adds with a smirk and of course, I end up drawing the ideas that tempt me the most first. The ones I can’t resist even if they make no sense.

Sarah also reflected on a moment when a fan’s response truly made her day. I adore every like, laughing emoji, and comment, she shared. But my favorite moment was when someone in England bought one of my first cartoons Worried too much worried too little. It was so gratifying to know someone loved it as much as I did and was willing to pay for it. Of course, Sarah’s artistic journey isn’t all praise and admiration. She also opened up about the ideas she often has to let go of. There are ideas I have to scrap, she confessed. The ones with too many characters and overly complicated settings that I just can’t draw. They’re the ones that make me say Maybe not today.
