Everyone’s got their flavor, right? Some folks crave a gentle chuckle, while others might want something sharper, darker, or even a bit twisted. That’s the beauty of humor—it has endless forms, and creators are always juggling these variations in hopes of hitting the sweet spot for a laugh or two.
Take Jeff Swenson, for example. He’s made his debut on Bored Panda, bringing his quirky brand of humor to the table. With his knack for the unexpected, Jeff might just pick up a few fans among us (if we’re lucky, or unlucky, depending on your taste). Curious about what kind of nonsense lies ahead? Well, we asked Jeff himself about his recurring themes. His response? “Stale gags, mostly. Either they’ll make you laugh or make you groan. Hopefully both.” So, brace yourself for a delightful mix of the predictably strange and the absurdly familiar.

In our final chat with Jeff, he opened up about the more fulfilling parts of being a comic artist. “I’m retired from freelancing,” he said, “though I get ‘asked’—or, you know, coerced—by loved ones and former clients to help out on projects here and there. When I’m allowed some time for myself, I like to write just for the fun of it. I also enjoy putting together eBooks full of my cartoons. But honestly, the best part is being free from deadlines. It’s nice not having that pressure. So yeah, it’s the freedom and the leisure that really inspire me these days. And you know, screw you AIs! Oh, wait… maybe I shouldn’t have said that. They’ll probably get back at us all someday, right?”
It’s clear that while Jeff embraces his creative freedom, he’s also aware that sometimes, humor—and maybe a touch of rebellion—can come with a price.
