Like many creators, Steven admitted that creative blocks occasionally slow him down. Yet, over time, has found unconventional ways to overcome these hurdles. My best ideas seem to emerge when the pressure is on the shared. When a deadline is fast approaching, it’s like my brain switches into overdrive. No matter how hard I try, I never manage to get more than a week or two ahead of my weekly newspaper submission. It’s this constant dance with time that seems to fuel his creativity proving that sometimes pressure is the best muse.

When I hit a creative wall, I lean on a few quirky strategies to get things flowing. Working digitally has its perks one of which is the ability to reuse past characters and settings. I like to shuffle them around, placing them in new scenarios changing their expressions, or even teleporting them to unexpected worlds. But the method I cherish most is the one where I simply close my eyes and let the characters take control. I visualize them in conversation watching as their personalities unfold and intertwine. Usually, this sparks a new idea, or if I am lucky their chatter turns into a perfect punchline as if they are writing the joke themselves.
