I’ve always had a knack for embracing the lighter side of life, especially when it comes to humor. It doesn’t take much to make me laugh—I find humor in nearly everything. If it were possible, I’d stick googly eyes on just about anything that crosses my path.
The idea behind my comic series, “Today’s Special”, sprouted from countless hours spent scanning diner menus and bursting into laughter. The absurdity of some of the items and their descriptions would spark my imagination, and that’s how many of the one-panel gags were born. The more I looked at these menus, the funnier they became to me.
What really drives my humor is personification. There’s something about turning everyday objects into characters that I find incredibly amusing. Whether it’s a fork with a quirky personality or a ketchup bottle showing off its sass, I’m always on the hunt for something that will make me laugh in the most unexpected places.
